Sarah moved to Juneau from Oregon, where she earned a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a specialization in transportation from Portland State University. Her graduate workshop project, a trails plan for economic development for a small Oregon town, received a national award from the American Planning Association in 2013. She brings to Sheinberg Associates community planning experience in the non-profit and public sector, as well as two years of national service in AmeriCorps.
Juneau's liquid sunshine hasn't stopped Sarah from pursuing a full life in SE Alaska, including running, playing ultimate frisbee, and foraging for wild edibles. Since moving here she has helped start Juneau Rides, a community group dedicated to encouraging bicycling for transportation in Juneau. Her bucket list includes making nagoonberry wine, catching a 100 lb halibut, and learning to play the banjo.
